Being a Door Able
How it's done
Your child will find their elf flattened against the front entryway door like a silly sticker when they walk out in the morning. Use a small amount of sticky tack to press the elf limbs against the surface, then tape up a handwritten sign that reads door-able. This setup takes under two minutes to pull together and requires zero cleanup, making it a perfect choice for a busy weeknight. It is simple enough for toddlers to understand while remaining clever for older kids. Inspired by Make the Best of Everything.
Should be fine around pets as long as you place it out of reach.
Why this works
Entryway scenes are high-traffic and time-flexible, the elf greets arrivals whether it's 7am breakfast or a 4pm return from school. At difficulty 1, this scene is specifically designed to be set up in under two minutes. Busy nights are why this one exists.
Variations
- Bigger-kid twist: For an older crowd that sees through simple scenes, step up to Mission Impossible Elf Arrival , same room, cleverer setup.
If it doesn't go to plan
If the elf ends up too well-hidden and the kids can't find it, nudge them with a vague hint ("Looks like our elf went somewhere cozy"), the discovery is the point.
