Doorway Spider Web Trap
How it's done
Your child will find their elf stuck in a DIY trap strung across the entryway, held tight by strands of clear fishing line. To complete the scene, place a small handwritten help sign near the elf to make it look like they are caught in an elaborate web. This setup takes about five minutes to arrange and uses no messy adhesives, making it perfect for a quick reset before bed. Kids aged three to ten will enjoy the playful rescue mission. This scene was Inspired by Bored Panda.
Should be fine around pets as long as you place it out of reach.
Why this works
Entryway scenes are high-traffic and time-flexible, the elf greets arrivals whether it's 7am breakfast or a 4pm return from school. Difficulty 2 means it uses items you already own and takes about five minutes, quick but visibly intentional.

If it doesn't go to plan
If the elf ends up too well-hidden and the kids can't find it, nudge them with a vague hint ("Looks like our elf went somewhere cozy"), the discovery is the point.
