How it's done

This scene features your elf caught in a humorous jam, with just their arm or hand poking out from the closed dryer door. To set it up, simply place the elf inside the drum before you finish your next load of laundry, leaving a limb sticking out as if they got stuck while reaching for a stray sock. It takes less than five minutes to execute and requires zero cleanup, making it a perfect low-effort win for a busy weeknight. This setup works well for kids aged three to ten who will enjoy the silly visual. This creative laundry room rescue was Inspired by Mommy Poppins.

Pets in the house?

Should be fine around pets as long as you place it out of reach.

Why this works

Laundry room scenes play the comedy of chores. The elf caught 'folding' mismatched socks or 'ironing' chips is a scene kids associate with their own daily routine. Difficulty 2 means it uses items you already own and takes about five minutes, quick but visibly intentional.

Variations

If it doesn't go to plan

If the elf ends up too well-hidden and the kids can't find it, nudge them with a vague hint ("Looks like our elf went somewhere cozy"), the discovery is the point.
