Elf Playing School
How it's done
Position your elf at the front of a small classroom setup in the bedroom to start the day. Arrange several stuffed animals in rows facing a mini whiteboard where the elf has scribbled a simple math problem or a morning greeting. Your child will find the elf holding a makeshift pointer, looking like a focused teacher ready for the day. Why this works

If it doesn't go to plan
If the elf ends up too well-hidden and the kids can't find it, nudge them with a vague hint ("Looks like our elf went somewhere cozy"), the discovery is the point.
