Elf Printer Picture Prank

Home Office Difficulty ●●●○○ Messiness ●○○○○ Ages 4–12

How it's done

Your elf is caught in a silly act of vanity by printing a stack of its own portrait. When your kids walk into the office, they will find the elf perched proudly on top of a pile of freshly printed papers scattered in the tray. You only need access to a standard home printer and a few blank sheets of paper to pull this off. This setup takes about fifteen minutes to prepare and leaves absolutely no mess to clean up later. Pets in the house?

Should be fine around pets as long as you place it out of reach.

Why this works

Office scenes modernize the tradition, the elf mirrors the work-from-home life your kids see every day, which makes the magic feel personal. This mid-difficulty scene trades a little more setup time for a bigger 'wow' moment when your kids walk in.

If it doesn't go to plan

If the elf ends up too well-hidden and the kids can't find it, nudge them with a vague hint ("Looks like our elf went somewhere cozy"), the discovery is the point.
