Elf Squished by a Bike

How it's done

Position your elf facedown on the garage floor with a childs bicycle tipped over across their back or legs. Place a small handwritten sign nearby that says I did not see it coming to complete the comedic effect. This setup takes less than five minutes to arrange and requires no cleanup, making it a reliable choice for a busy weeknight. It works best for children aged four to ten who will enjoy the silly sight of their scout in a minor traffic accident. This scene was Inspired by A Visual Merriment.

Pets in the house?

Should be fine around pets as long as you place it out of reach.

Why this works

Garage scenes feel like hidden discovery, the elf isn't where it 'should' be. Works great for families who visit the garage daily. Difficulty 2 means it uses items you already own and takes about five minutes, quick but visibly intentional.

Variations

  • Bigger-kid twist: For an older crowd that sees through simple scenes, step up to Barbie Car Mechanic , same room, cleverer setup.

If it doesn't go to plan

If the elf ends up too well-hidden and the kids can't find it, nudge them with a vague hint ("Looks like our elf went somewhere cozy"), the discovery is the point.
