Laundry Pile Lounger

How it's done

Your elf is taking a well-deserved nap right in the middle of your unfolded laundry pile. When your kids walk into the laundry room, they will find the scout tucked comfortably between a few clean socks and shirts. You simply need an empty laundry basket and a small stack of clothes to pull this together in under five minutes. It is a great low-stress option for busy weeknights, especially for younger children who enjoy spotting their elf in an unexpected place. This scene is Inspired by So Easy Being Green.

Pets in the house?

Should be fine around pets as long as you place it out of reach.

Why this works

Laundry room scenes play the comedy of chores. The elf caught 'folding' mismatched socks or 'ironing' chips is a scene kids associate with their own daily routine. Difficulty 2 means it uses items you already own and takes about five minutes, quick but visibly intentional.

Variations

If it doesn't go to plan

If the elf ends up too well-hidden and the kids can't find it, nudge them with a vague hint ("Looks like our elf went somewhere cozy"), the discovery is the point.
