Shower Standing
How it's done
Your elf is simply standing inside the empty shower stall, perhaps clutching a small washcloth or a plastic bottle of body wash. When children walk into the bathroom, they will spot their scout waiting patiently behind the glass door or curtain. This setup takes less than five minutes to arrange and requires absolutely zero cleanup the next morning, making it perfect for busy weeknights. Why this works

If it doesn't go to plan
If the elf ends up too well-hidden and the kids can't find it, nudge them with a vague hint ("Looks like our elf went somewhere cozy"), the discovery is the point.
