Stuffed Animal Pile Hide
How it's done
Gather a selection of your child's favorite plushies and arrange them into a comfortable mountain on the living room rug. Nestle the elf right in the center of the pile so only its eyes and hat peek out from behind a large teddy bear or soft doll. This setup takes about ten minutes to assemble and leaves zero mess to clean up in the morning. It works best for younger children who enjoy playing a game of seek and find. Why this works

If it doesn't go to plan
If the elf ends up too well-hidden and the kids can't find it, nudge them with a vague hint ("Looks like our elf went somewhere cozy"), the discovery is the point.
