Toilet Paper Roll Chocolate

How it's done

Your elf is having a bit of a funny moment in the bathroom today. Simply place the elf sitting inside an empty toilet paper roll with a few pieces of chocolate candy tucked behind them as if they are hiding their snack stash. This setup takes less than five minutes to arrange and involves zero cleanup the next morning. It is a reliable hit for children ages three to ten, though please keep the chocolate away from any household pets. This scene was Inspired by Mrs. Ashley French.

Pets in the house?

Chocolate is toxic to dogs, keep out of pet reach.

Why this works

Bathroom scenes lean into universal kid humor (toilets, toothpaste, bubbles). They're memorable, they clean up fast, and they always get a laugh. Difficulty 2 means it uses items you already own and takes about five minutes, quick but visibly intentional.

Variations

  • Pet-safe version: Try Elf Toilet Joke , same idea, but no chocolate, loose candy, or floor-level hazards. Swap the elements that worry you and keep the rest.
  • Bigger-kid twist: For an older crowd that sees through simple scenes, step up to Cereal-Filled Toilet , same room, cleverer setup.

If it doesn't go to plan

If the elf ends up too well-hidden and the kids can't find it, nudge them with a vague hint ("Looks like our elf went somewhere cozy"), the discovery is the point.
