Tucked in Child's Bed

How it's done

Place your elf under the child's own bed covers so only the head and hat are visible, mimicking a cozy nap. This scene is perfect for when your children are at a sleepover or simply away from their room for the day. You only need a few minutes to tuck the elf securely into the blankets. Because there are no loose materials or small pieces involved, this setup is completely pet-safe and requires zero cleanup. It is a straightforward way to keep the tradition going with minimal effort, Inspired by So Easy Being Green.

Pets in the house?

Should be fine around pets as long as you place it out of reach.

Why this works

Bedroom scenes work best as an evening reveal, kids find the elf when they climb into bed. Bedtime is when a cozy, low-mess scene lands hardest. Difficulty 2 means it uses items you already own and takes about five minutes, quick but visibly intentional.

Variations

  • Bigger-kid twist: For an older crowd that sees through simple scenes, step up to Balloon Door Crepe Blockade , same room, cleverer setup.

If it doesn't go to plan

If the elf ends up too well-hidden and the kids can't find it, nudge them with a vague hint ("Looks like our elf went somewhere cozy"), the discovery is the point.
