Washing Machine Drum Ride
How it's done
Position your elf sitting comfortably inside the metal drum of your washing machine, surrounded by a small pile of clean socks or colorful t-shirts. The scene creates a funny visual as if the elf decided to take a spin cycle or hide among the laundry piles. It takes about five minutes to arrange the clothes and prop your elf into a seated position. This setup is perfect for toddlers and older children alike since it keeps the mess entirely contained within the appliance. This simple hiding spot was Inspired by Bored Panda.
Should be fine around pets as long as you place it out of reach.
Why this works
Laundry room scenes play the comedy of chores. The elf caught 'folding' mismatched socks or 'ironing' chips is a scene kids associate with their own daily routine. Difficulty 2 means it uses items you already own and takes about five minutes, quick but visibly intentional.

If it doesn't go to plan
If the elf ends up too well-hidden and the kids can't find it, nudge them with a vague hint ("Looks like our elf went somewhere cozy"), the discovery is the point.
