How it's done
Your elf is crushing an early morning workout right on the bedroom dresser. By sliding two large marshmallows onto the ends of a plastic drinking straw, you create a perfect miniature barbell for your elf to hoist overhead. This scene works best for younger children who will enjoy seeing their scout taking fitness seriously before the holiday rush. Why this works

If it doesn't go to plan
If the elf ends up too well-hidden and the kids can't find it, nudge them with a vague hint ("Looks like our elf went somewhere cozy"), the discovery is the point.
