Windowsill Watcher
How it's done
Position your elf perched on the living room windowsill as if they are keeping a quiet lookout for early morning snow or passing cars. You can spread a few cookie crumbs on the ledge near their feet to suggest they enjoyed a midnight snack while monitoring the neighborhood. This setup requires almost no effort and works perfectly for children aged three to ten who will enjoy finding their friend in a new vantage point. Cleanup takes seconds since you only need to wipe away the crumbs. Inspired by Clara and Macy.

Why this works
Living-room scenes are the most photogenic. The Christmas tree, the couch, the mantel all frame the elf beautifully for the family photo you'll actually take (and maybe post). Difficulty 2 means it uses items you already own and takes about five minutes, quick but visibly intentional.

If it doesn't go to plan
If the elf ends up too well-hidden and the kids can't find it, nudge them with a vague hint ("Looks like our elf went somewhere cozy"), the discovery is the point.
